Dan and Martha Bliss, Brunelle
Although the official first night of this weekend will be Saturday, the 24th in Solomons, Brunelle plans to spend Friday night, the 23rd anchored in Hudson Creek (off the Little Choptank). Anyone wanting to join us is more than welcome.
On Saturday the 24th we'll plan to be anchored and ready to accept raftees by 3:00 pm in Solomons up Mill Creek. We will be monitoring Channel 72 from 1400 on and can be reached on our cell 717-676-7635.
SATURDAY will be SUNDAE...
So, bring your favorite "Here comes summer" goodies to share. Brunelle will supply Caesar Salad for all followed by a SUNDAE BAR for you to make your own "diet" dessert to wrap up the evening.
THE RACE
Sunday will be an optional "logged" race from Solomons to Hudson Creek off the Little Choptank. We will have details of the course (part of the reason for Brunelle's stop Friday night) at the raft-up on Saturday. There will be discussion of handicapping (and Dan will be selling minutes to support his retirement). "Logged" means that YOU time yourself from point A to point B and then we try to determine a winner using modified PHRF ratings.
The "trophy" cocktail party will follow the first CCYC group swim of the year (hopefully NOT a polar bear event). Bring a dish to share and something to grill Sunday evening.
We hope several of you venture to the southern part of the middle of the bay for this exciting weekend.
Bob Klimek, Lucia
Lucia will be getting a late start on Friday, so we might just anchor in the Rhode River to get a leg up on Solomons. Probably will not arrive in the Rhode until after 8pm. That is unless things change between now and then.
Don McBride, Coelumar
I hope to make the Hudson Creek raft on Sunday night.
