Well, our first meeting of the year got much
accomplished. Those that attended provided a great deal of input to the
tentative planning of the upcoming shore and boating activities. I would like
to cover what events were discussed and ask for some feedback prior to the
planning committee's meeting on the 8th of February, where we will put a firm
date and Raft Captain to some of these ideas.
As you can see on the next
page, we are in dire need of "Raft Captains" for some of the events. For those
that haven't "served" as a Raft Captain, it proves to be an interesting
undertaking that will leave you with lifelong (hopefully good) memories. Please
look at your calendar to see if you might be available to "take a turn" on one
of the vacancies.
A.J. and I are hosting the planning committee meeting
at our home on February 8th at 1800 (6:00pm for some). If you are interested in
attending, please give us a call by the 5th so we can coordinate food and
beverages. If you have ANY inputs to the schedule you would like to see
incorporated or modified, please contact myself, Joan Savage or Mike Davis to
provide your 2 cents worth.
Gerry Helldorfer has expressed an interest
to do a DELMARVA circumnavigation. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone
to "wet their whistle" on a blue water adventure. Please let Jerry or me know
if you might be interested in this.
